Yeah, it's old news but its relevant today with the whole Tim Tebow thing. Listen, this is the way I see it. You testify the way you want to as long as it isn't hurting anyone. You bless others the way you want to, it isn't going to hurt them now is it? The preacher in question is obviously in love with his wife, blessing #1, his wife is obviously in love with him, blessing #2. His congregation is obviously happy with his style of bringing religion into their lives on a weekly basis, blessing #3...I could go on and on.

I'm not a particularly religious person, but I get a kick out of seeing people who are, to a point. Tim Tebow and the preacher in question aren't hurting anyone at all, it's actually quite warming to see people who have an unbreakable faith in whatever faith they choose to practice..as long as it isn't hurting anyone.

Religion is a hot topic these days, usually for all the wrong reasons IMO. I for one find these kind of displays heartwarming.

It is written..

Thanks for the comment on this otherwise dead blog, maybe I'll fire it up again someday.

This is old news now, ..but did anyone catch Jimmy kimmel show after this happened? He played a clip of it on his show, then Jimmy says something like, "WOW, even I would consider going to church to hear him". No judgments on Jimmy, but all it takes is watching his show and one can see, the show is a typical TV in the "flesh" and of a worldly nature. ...but wait a minute, isnt that the sector that Christ teaches us to address in the great commission when he says "all"? I mean, yeah, I would be a little uncomfortable hearing this prayer in church as part of his sermon, but lets put it in context. He was at NASCAR. and he got to say the word JESUS without TV editing it off. What if some fans heard him and said "Man I want to try this guys church out"? ...and they went and got saved? All because a preacher used the language, and some humor to ears that were listening. It kind of reminds me of another man I read of that used things (miracles) to first gain a gathering attention so they could later hear "the real story" . That man (son of God, Jesus) probably would have been ridiculed too if there was nascar back in the bible days and he showed up and changed the fan's water into more wine (beer) for their festive time, as he did in the festive wedding that the bible teaches of.

People be very careful of how you judge what happens between God and a man's heart, or we could sometimes find ourselves making a judgment of God, when we "think" we are making a judgment of man, "if" in fact it was inspired by God in the first place to get his name heard before millions.

If God feels this preacher made a mockery of his (God's) name, he will be severely punished, but if the preacher and his church and his family are still being blessed today, then perhaps God put his stamp of approval on this. .....because I have never known an instance in the bible where God blessed and cursed one in the same breath. (obviously correct me if I am wrong)

People...LIGHTEN UP! With all the garbage going on in the world today, you're going to complain about this? I'm a practicing Catholic, and I THANK GOD for people like this. Did you see the smiles and the cheers he created? He made people happy and feel good. What a sin, huh? (NOT!) GOD BLESS HIM!

Sorry. NOOOOOOONE of you guys touched on this, but, am I the ONLY guy that is trying to figure out where this 'smokin' hot wife' of his is? I'm sure he's proud of her and loves her dearly, but I just don't see her fitting into THAT category. Should Heidi Klum and Cindy Crawford be lookin out for this killer? LOL

The way I look at it is like this....and I wouldn't qualify myself as a real religious person, but it's really up to the individual to worship as he/she sees fit. If Pastor Nelm finds comfort and can maintain a relationship with his God by using humor to get his message or gospel across, then everyone including God is happy...I think. Thanks Mary :)
